If people would stop at simple stability we would be fine. Unfortunately people tend to go overboard when left to their own devices (See Enron, Wall Street, etc.)

Worrying about other people makes it easier to deflect accountability doesn’t it?

Stop and think about why airlines tell you to put your oxygen mask on before you put your childs mask on. If you don’t take care of yourself first then everything else goes down the tubes QUICKLY and everyone dies. Once you are stable, you can assess the needs of others and save more lives.
